Tricone rock bit is mainly used in water well drilling and oil exploration. It is devided into 2 types: insert tricone bits and milled teeth tricone bit. Because of superior characteristics they are widely used in soft to very hard rock formations.
Tricone bit is made by steel body and teeth. The steel teeth tricone bit is also called milled teeth tricone rock bit. Milled teeth tricone bit is used for soft to medium hard rocks.
Button bit is made by tungsten carbide teeth and steel. The tungsten carbide buttons is inserted to the drill bit head as the cutting teeth. It is used for hard rocks.
